Painted during the Lion’s Gate, Into Deep Blues, channels the swirling intensity of human emotion into a vast oceanic field of blues. Layer upon layer of deep indigo, cobalt, and turquoise spiral like a vortex, evoking the pull of the sea and the unseen currents of our inner world.

This work explores the terrain of the gut—instinct, grounding, and grief—those feelings that sit heavy in the body yet move and shift like water. Splashes of lighter tones break through the darker depths, hinting at moments of clarity and release amid turmoil. The result is an immersive, meditative painting that invites viewers to dive into their own emotional landscape, to be held, rocked, and ultimately grounded by the tides within.

About The Artist

Abstract expressionist painter K A Treble creates large‑scale, expressionist artworks that explore the emotional and spiritual power of colour and mark‑making, painting riotus, elemental and textural canvases in a deeply physical process.

Working primarily in oil, she builds and erodes layers over time, revealing hidden textures and stories beneath the surface, using the palette knife to carve stories and etchings into the canvas. Her work brims with gestures and textures—inspired from modernist masters. It may feel familiar at first, but it will leave you feeling hit by something urgent and new. Based in the south-east of England in the Surrey Hills, she is inspired deeply by the surrounding nature, light, colour, movement and energy.
