Our mat base consist of 100% Natural Rubber - that's it.

All sourced from sustainably farmed, non-Amazon tapped trees. Free-from plastics, foams and metal fillers. The top layer is made of a soft vegan suede polyester, which is made from recycled PET bottles and printed with water-based ecological inks. Natural Rubber does contain latex, so if you have a latex allergy please be aware.

You can read more about the materials and our process here.

For in-between a sweaty session (or two), we recommend a quick wipe down with water or our yoga mat cleaning spray, to cut through any oils on the surface on both sides of your mat. For a good deep clean, your mat can be popped into the washing machine with some citrus juice for freshness, there is no need for detergent which can release fibres. We recommend a 30 degree quick wash. Hang out to air dry and brush the fibres up once dry. If you use a mat cleaner spray, we would recommend a natural, plant based spray only as you breathe so deeply in practice and this can affect the longevity of the rubber base.

A full care and cleaning guide is here.

It's normal for the surface to feel slightly slippery the first few sessions, so don't worry, the vegan suede touch is soft and you just need to break it in.

Our premium mats work the opposite way to plastic mats (which slip and slide with age/sweat and wear through quickly), the more you sweat and use your mat, brushing up the fibres, the better the grip becomes, so you might want to rub over the mat with a damp cloth, a good scrub (don’t be gentle) at first to pick up the fibres. Unlike other pro mats, which need to be ‘salted’ or chalked, our process is cleaner and simple; the grip gets better and better with use.

To further activate the anti-slip function as you wear it in, you can get your mat a little wet. Use a water spray to spritz the surface before and when needed in practice, during hot yoga, HIIT or Vinyasa your sweat and body heat will activate. The more you use the mat, the more worn it is, the better the grip gets as it gets to know your body, unlike the traditional PVC surfaces, our grip is softer and thus less sticky on the skin.

Warming up and activating both your hands and feet in your practice, will also ensure a super grip. Use your whole body with the mat. If you are a beginner and find you are slipping a lot, ask your teacher to help with your key asanas, your downward dog may be too wide, shortening your stance, can give you the control you need over your body.

The base of the mat is made from 100% natural rubber, with no plastics (polys) or other material fillers that other yoga mats may have. Natural Rubber has a little weight to it. Our mats are also wider and longer than standard yoga mat sizes. We developed this so you can really stretch out and enjoy your practice. Our mats are a generous 183 cms (That's 6ft!) in length and 66 cms wide. The gallery or home practice/studio mat weights 3.2 kgs.

Our Touring mats are lighter for packing in your hand luggage, navigating the tube and climbing up that mountain for your best yoga spot, with enough base to give you some protection from the surface and grip for practice. They are the same size at 183 cms (6ft) x 66 cms with a lighter 1.7 mm thickness and weigh just 1.9 kgs.

Our mats are Free-From PVC, Silicone, Chlorine and Phthalates. No glues are used to attach our beautiful paintings. It is a technique called heat sublimation, which bonds the layers using just that alone... heat!

We have researched... A LOT... and found that during the process of making PVC, harmful chemicals and carcinogens are released. Many yoga mats also have chemicals added to make them non-slip, these are called Phthalates, though they are invisible to the eye, they can easily be inhaled during your practice, especially breathing deeply as we do in Yoga.

Understanding the importance of having a chemical free mat. Stay away from plastics and PVCs! They may be a cheaper production but the impact on your health and the environment should be your first choice. You can read more about eco friendly yoga mats here.

Each mat is packed in our signature brushstrokes printed cardboard box that you can keep for easy storage or recycle with your paper recycling. For delivery this is then placed in a postal box, which is again acceptable for your paper recycling bin including the paper tape. We are committed to keeping our packaging beautiful, functional and not wasteful. However to meet standards with some stockists, there may be a bag or film around the mat to keep it clean and fit for their warehouse, we are working to make these from corn film… coming soon!

A cotton strap is included in the package to carry your mat.

Each Yoga Mala jewellery piece is special and we wanted our packaging to reflect that but not be wasteful either. Our Malas are individually wrapped in tissue with then alongside your tumble stone goes into a natural cotton dust-bag which you can use thereafter for safe keeping. The box can also be used as a wish or intention box, for your practices or for safe-keeping.

These are then wrapped in tissue in a gift box for safe keeping and a cardboard postage box for sending.

To keep your mala looking and performing its best, we recommend keeping them in the natural cotton dust bag provided when you are not using or wearing your mala.

You can use a little sandalwood oil on the natural wood including the Rudrakska Seeds, this will keep them looking smooth and oiled and also adds aromatherapy into your practice, which can also be nice.

You can cleanse your crystals and stones when you wish by simply rinsing in water, be gentle, rinsing them whilst meditating on their use can be a lovely practice and leaving them out in the full moon light to recharge when needed.

As the stones are natural, and do vary, we often photograph several versions of the jewellery piece to show the variation. In order to quickly process all orders and continue offering fast shipping, we are unable to take photos of exact items prior to purchase or shipment.
