At Kati Kaia, we have always believed that the objects we surround ourselves with can influence the way we experience everyday life.

Our yoga mats begin not with a trend or a marketing concept, but with original artwork.

Each design starts as a hand-painted work before being carefully translated onto a functional surface designed to support movement and practice.

But the finished product is only part of the story.

A Note from Kati

"Receiving this recognition from The Exquisite Standard feels like a full-circle moment for me.

When I first started Kati Kaia, I was driven by the belief that art and creativity matter. As a deeply creative and spiritual soul, working within the fast paced world of fashion, I knew burnout well. Yoga saved me. Art saved me. Again and again.

Painting became my therapy—a place to reconnect, to process, to heal and to simply be. From the very beginning, my hope was that the colours, patterns and stories behind every design could inspire others on their own journey too. That each piece might encourage someone to move with intention, connect more deeply with themselves, and treasure the belongings they choose to surround themselves with. I truly believe the things we use every day should bring us joy.

There have been many moments along the way where choosing the 'exquisite' path meant taking the longer, more difficult road. Designing fully recyclable packaging was once considered unusual, yet today it should simply be the standard. We insisted on using water-based inks in our printing process, even though achieving the vibrancy of our blues, corals and yellows required far more time and development than using traditional chemical-based inks. It mattered to us because creating beauty should never come at the expense of the planet.

Seeing these choices recognised today reminds me that integrity is always worth the investment. I care deeply about the Earth we call home—its beauty, its fragility and the responsibility we all share to protect it.

To me, luxury is about having the space to breathe, to move, to connect and to care for yourself. It's the gift and grace of becoming who you're meant to be, even if that's just twenty uninterrupted minutes on your mat. You're enough already. My hope is that Kati Kaia helps you come home to yourself.

Our philosophy extends beyond our mats. Whether it's the sage we source directly from trusted farms, our handcrafted malas made from carefully selected Grade A+ crystals, or the materials we choose for every collection, every decision begins with the same question: does this honour the person using it and the planet we all share...

Every Kati Kaia product has been imagined, sketched, painted, refined and thoughtfully created with intention. Perhaps that's what this recognition means most to me.

It isn't validation of who we are—it is recognition of how we choose to create.
