'That moment when the sunlight seeps through the tree canopy in the early morning, when the light bounces off the branches and speaks to your soul.' 

I have been obsessed with tree canopies for some time, never looking at my feet - always up to the heavens to watch the birds with their joy soaring above. My daily walks are my sanctuary, the trees are nature's strength, deep rooted and holding entire eco systems within them, interconnected with everything, from the earth to the sky. I love watching the changing leaves and branches through the year and am captivated by the 'Komorebi' of the sunlight seeking through.

Rich oil markings in shades of organic green and yellow create a lush, organic feel, while meticulously applied gold foils shimmer and shift with every change in light. Overlaid on the metallic base are expressive splashes and stippled patterns of forest green, lime, and pale yellow, giving it the appearance of sunlight filtering through a dense forest canopy. The interplay of these elements creates a dynamic surface that draws the viewer in, revealing new details with each glance, reflecting the tree canopy, reflecting the light from the window, the nature outside. A truly unique piece that brings warmth and sophistication to any collection.

The overall effect is one of luxury and natural vitality, balancing the industrial feel of the metal with the raw energy of the botanical colours.

About The Artist

K A Treble, aka Kati Kaia

Abstract painter K A Treble creates large‑scale, expressionist artworks that explore the emotional and spiritual power of colour and mark‑making, painting riotus, elemental and textural canvases in a deeply physical process.

Working primarily in oil, she builds and erodes layers over time, revealing hidden textures and stories beneath the surface, using the palette knife to carve stories and etchings into the canvas. Her work brims with gestures and textures—inspired from modernist masters. It may feel familiar at first, but it will leave you feeling hit by something urgent and new. Based in the south-east of England in the Surrey Hills, she is inspired deeply by the nature, movement and the energy of the Surrey Hills AONB and the heart chakra of the earth.

Her recent musings are on human stories, human emotions, feeling the emotions within the body and grounding in abstraction within building of layers in an increasing artificial world.

Our Packaging

Original paintings are shipped in a crate with extra padding, ready to be hanged. Fine art prints are shipped either in a large postal tube for larger prints or flat on board, for framed pieces are all sustainably packaged, with suitable packing and protection.
