In Melete: A Journey of Light and Transformation, Kati A Treble reinterprets the myth of Icarus through the lens of abstract expressionism, evoking a timeless meditation on human ambition, fragility, and transcendence. Drawing influence from the dramatic chiaroscuro and emotional depth of the Dutch Masters, this composition conjures the arc of Icarus’ fall — the soaring flight, the moment of collapse, and the quiet, poetic surrender to the sea.

K A Treble’s work explores the emotional depth of abstraction through vibrant colour, gestural mark-making, and the physicality of oil paint. The paintings are intuitive – one mark leads to, informs and changes another through vibrant colour combinations and thick energetic marks.

Her intuitive process—of layering, scraping back, and rebuilding—reveals hidden textures and stories beneath the surface. Blending energy, emotion, and modern narrative, Treble creates immersive works that speak where words fall short.
